Review: Women’s Weird

Happy Halloween! I’ve got a review of an appropriately spooky book for you today – a collection of Weird short stories by female writers that, in my opinion, is a must for anyone who likes a good supernatural scare…

TBR Check In: October 2019

September flew by! I feel like I’ve barely been paying attention and the days have just slipped past – I certainly haven’t been blogging as much as I’d hoped…

Goodreads Reading Challenge

344

I didn’t make it to 50 books, unfortunately, but I got to 39, which is slap bang in the middle for monthly reads this year, so I won’t complain! I’m up to 344 books for the year, so there’s only 23 to go until I hit my target, which I’m confident I can do before the end of October. And then we’ll have to see what happens…

My Owned TBR

My owned TBR is currently at 623, which means that it’s gone down by 13 books! I haven’t bought a single book (though I wasn’t officially on a ban), but I’ve been very lucky with book post from publishers, so I’m genuinely pretty surprised. Who’d have thought that not buying books would mean you had a smaller TBR, hey? I’m also laughing at my January self, who thought I could whittle this down by 20 books a month – yeah right!

NetGalley

I have 143 books awaiting review currently, though I’ve been seriously proactive about reviewing them, with 17 submitted in September. I was only approved for 10, as I’ve been trying hard not to request things unless I’m sure I’ll love them.

Blog Tours

Three blog tours for me in October, with two happening tomorrow (I know, I know, I’ll stop double booking myself eventually, but it does make things exciting)!

2nd – Crier’s War by Nina Varela

2nd – Angel Mage by Garth Nix

11th – This Earl of Mine by Kate Bateman

The TBR

I made a very detailed TBR last month, and though I did end up reading many of them, I also felt very constrained by it, so I’m giving myself a TBR-less month! I’d like to read a few more NetGalley books, and some of the things I’ve borrowed from friends, but that’s as specific as I’m getting.
Let this month be the month of the mood read!
