So you might have noticed I was offline for most of October – I announced a hiatus over on Twitter as I’ve been struggling with my health and needed a few weeks without the pressure of reviewing. Still, I’m back now, and trying my hardest to catch up – I have about a dozen reviews I’ve read the books for and need to write so I’m aiming to get my list clear in November, as well as several blog tours. I might be posting twice some days to get things up to speed!
Goodreads Reading Challenge
I made it! Despite a lacklustre reading month (my worst so far, at only 24 books), I hopped over the finish line of my Goodreads Challenge and have officially read more books than there are days in the year. #Hallowreadathon helped squeeze in three more before the end of the month for a total of 368 books. I’m not going to up my goal, just keep reading and see how far I get in the next two months.
My Owned TBR
Owned TBR is at 619, so down by 4, which is at least some progress considering it’s been a brilliant month for new releases. I’m really cutting back on the book buying, so I’m hoping that I can squeak this under 600 by the end of the year… Maybe?
NetGalley
On NetGalley things are looking pretty bad, with 148 books awaiting review. I’m going to be doing some #NonStopNetGalley-ing this month, so I’m hoping to get this under 130 by December 1st, with 18 reviews submitted.
Blog Tours
It’s a busy old month for blog tours, with some books I’m really looking forward to! I can’t wait to talk about Girls of Storm and Shadow, and I’m excited to return to the world of The Last Namsara and The Caged Queen with new companion book The Sky Weaver.
7th – Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan
8th – This Earl of Mine by Kate Bateman
11th – The Sky Weaver by Kristen Ciccarelli
18th – The Raided Heart by Jennifer C Wilson
29th – The Sword of Kaigen by ML Wang
The TBR
No TBR for me again this month, as I’m still a little shaky health-wise so I want to be able to pick up whatever I feel like. I have plenty of variety in the things I need to review, so I expect it will be a rather mixed bag!
I hope you feel better soon, being unwell is never fun.

Thank you so much! I have CFS so unfortunately it comes and goes, but I’m feeling a lot better now after a dodgy summer, so I’m hopeful!

Glad to hear you are in an upswing, hopefully it stays like that for a long, long time.

Oh wow thats alot of Netgalley books. I can’t even find that many on there to request. 😂 But I understand how they can pile up. Physical books are just easier sometimes to read.

Yes! Particularly when I’m ill I find myself reaching for paperbacks over my tablet – they just feel more comforting? But I need to get working on it. It’s about a year’s worth of requests, plus I went mad when I first got NG and requested everything, haha! I know better now…

Thank you so much, that’s really sweet! I haven’t talked about it much here (though I yell on Twitter) but I have CFS/ME, so sometimes I can do lots and sometimes my body makes me slow down, haha. But I think after a few bad months I might be doing okay now 🙂 Time to catch up!

Hope you’re feeling a little better, sometimes taking a step back can be so refreshing! This is such a great way to keep track of all of your tbrs – digital and physical. You’ve read an amazing amount of books, congratulations on reaching your tbr goal! Wish I was able to read even half of this much 🙈😂

Thank you so much! It’s been really interesting to see how little my TBR actually drops, even with my reading speed!

I hope you continue to feel better! Especially so you can get through your NetGalley books. I’ve got about 50 books to read and review because I also went a bit mad during my first couple of years. I still do sometimes *facepalm*

Yes, that first rush of requesting power is so dangerous! That’s where most of mine is from!
