I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of the last four books in Erica Ridley’s 12 Dukes of Christmas series – she’s released four a year for the last two years in September, October, November and December. It’s finally time for this year’s set to begin, and Dawn with a Duke is an adorable instalment!
Marshmallow Pie The Cat Superstar was already on my radar, because I’m always looking for new cat books, but what made me absolutely determined to get my paws on it was this illustration that Clara Vulliamy tweeted:
Now, I know I don’t share as many pictures over here as I do on Twitter, so in case you don’t know what my cat Tomte and I look like… here we are:
I shared this picture with Clara and, incredibly sweetly, she offered to send me copies of both Marshmallow Pie books so we could meet our doppelgangers! And having read them, I can tell you that any cat lover, or reader of joyously funny chapter books, needs to order both immediately!
The Bone Shard Daughter takes classic multiple-POV fantasy and breathes fresh air into it, offering a world of twisted magic and complex characters that had me racing to the final page!
I really enjoyed The Blue Beyond, the last book in Little Tiger’s full colour early reader series, and when I saw that Rocket Boy was a story about a boy, his cat, and the power of imagination, I leapt at the chance to review it!
Though I read a lot of historical romance, I tend to stick mostly to the 19th century. Redeeming Her Viking Warrior is my first Viking read, but I jumped in with both feet because I love the author, and it didn’t disappoint!
I really enjoyed my first trip to Roar in The Land of Roar, so I jumped at the chance to join the blog tour for its sequel – and this series just keeps getting better!
Since I’m not flying through my stacks of books so quickly any more, I thought it might be a good idea to get a little more targeted in my reading, so I’m actually setting myself a TBR for August! I picked five review copies I want to get to soon, and then did the tried-and-tested method of asking Twitter to pick the rest… So let’s see what there is!
