A double review today, for a pair of novellas that are so good, I’m almost angry I didn’t write them…
It has taken me forever to read this book, but I think I did actually end up reading it at just the right time…
High fantasy doesn’t get much sweeter than this cosy tale of an orc who gives up the adventuring life for her dream of running a coffee-shop…
A very belated review for a truly wonderful fantasy full of twists, magic and glamour!
Scorpica is fascinating, but flawed, epic fantasy with an almost entirely female cast – although I had fun overall, it didn’t quite work for me, but those looking for ruthless women will certainly have their choice of them!
Age of Ash is an ambitious new series starter that ultimately fell a little short for me…
I can’t believe this is the final outing for Irene and the Invisible Library gang, and I’m delighted to be part of the blog tour to send this fabulous series off with some fanfare. (BE AWARE: the blurb of this book contains a massive spoiler for the previous book, so don’t read on if you’re not up-to-date!)
I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did – but I ended up having a good time!
The Goblin Emperor is one of my favourite fantasy books, so I was very excited for this follow up set in the same world – it’s different, but it’s also excellent!
I’m a big fan of Scott’s first court fantasy trilogy, The Four Arts, and I’m so happy this book starts a spin-off trilogy!
