I’m a huge fan of Michelle Harrison’s middle grade books (see my reviews of A Pinch of Magic and A Sprinkle of Sorcery for why!) so I was really excited to be invited onto the blog tour for her first foray into chapter books – Midnight Magic is a rhyming tale of a girl and her pesky magical cat, told in verse and beautifully illustrated by Elissa Elwick!
The latest book in Little Tiger’s Colour Illustration series is a sweet, fantastical tale focusing on the power of memories and story-telling, and an adorable relationship between a boy and his grandad.
I really enjoyed The Blue Beyond, the last book in Little Tiger’s full colour early reader series, and when I saw that Rocket Boy was a story about a boy, his cat, and the power of imagination, I leapt at the chance to review it!
I was very intrigued by the concept of an illustration-heavy crossover between picture book and chapter book – The Blue Beyond is a great idea, beautifully executed!
