I’ve read quite a few middle grade books recently that I don’t quite have a whole post’s worth of thoughts on, so here are some quick thoughts about each! I’ll split this post into two parts so that it doesn’t get too long, so look out for part two next week.

I really enjoyed Alastair Chisholm’s debut sci-fi, Orion Lost (review here), so I was thrilled to get a chance to review Adam-2!
I’m always on the lookout for middle grade books which showcase princesses who take charge of their own destiny, and Princess Rose and the Quest of the Golden Gown is a lovely example!

I was really excited for Jasbinder Bilan’s second book after loving Asha and the Spirit Bird (review here), and I think I maybe ended up loving Tamarind and the Star of Ishta even more!
I loved the first book in this spooky, magical series, and A Sprinkle of Sorcery is even better!
Taking as its subject and inspiration the Victorian penny dreadful, Twelve Minutes to Midnight is unlike any middle grade I’ve read before!
I’ve been eyeing The Company of Eight for a while, and with the sequel The Conspiracy of Magic just out, I leapt at the chance to catch up!
